Today, an announcement.

I am very glad to say that I have begun working with the folks at Drync.com as a content producer and wine reviewer.

You -- and some hundreds of thousands of other people who have downloaded Drync's app -- may recognize it as Macworld's highest-rated wine app.

Or as one of Paul Mabray of Vintank's top five wine apps.

Or as one of the New York Times' three apps to take to the wine store.

Or as one of Mashable's ten essential apps for wine enthusiasts.

Or. Or. Or. The list goes on.

What I bring to their table is my ability to taste, and my ability to write. My role will be to generate content and reviews of wines, especially those that Drync features in their online sales offerings.

The first one of those launched just yesterday on Shoebuy.com.

You can see my notes on the wines on Drync's website.

For me and for Red White Boston, it's all about partnerships. Those partnerships in particular, that is, that encourage growth and that are mutually beneficial.

Consider our relationship with Drync.com one of those.

Way cool! If you ever need a guest writer you know how to get me.

And I like the question about online reviews where this is no live person to sell the wine.

For that I believe it makes sense to take a hybrid approach. Provide the hard tasting details, much like Stacy said in the prior post, so that a common ground can be maintained. Additionally the anectdote you gave in the last line of each review can help personalize and "make the sale". If you have the space you could expand that. You could consider pairing notes on the right people, music and occasions for certain wines. Food pairing is obvious, but unless more people start cooking real food at home I believe we are doomed to serve a small audience with that.

Bring it on!

Congrats, Cathy! This makes my urge to upgrade from a dumbphone even more compelling and necessary. Looking forward to reading more of you, and learning your secrets for kickass time management in taking on this opportunity!
