You’re probably signed up for this email list due to your love of wine.
Not just the liquid itself but for the love of the experience, the interactions, the community.
For many of us there’s more to wine than just picking up a bottle off of a shelf.
That’s why when we heard about the predicament of our friends at The Urban Grape, we knew we needed to spread the word.
Many of us have experienced the friendly, personalized service of a family-owned wine store, and opening up supermarket wine sales in the same shopping center undoubtedly threatens the existence of that experience.
If you’d like to help, The Urban Grape blog spells it out for you in this blog post.
Whether you stop by to sign their petition, attend the town hall meeting, write a letter, or tell your friends, you can show support for the hard work, great thought, and heart that goes into small businesses.
Thank you.

Sometimes a Red White Boston partner store just makes me go Wow.
That's exactly what Vinodivino has done, and I'm jonesing for you to see why.
They've produced an online video about their Valentine's Day offering...
And it's very, very cool.
Here it is!
It's clever.
It's direct.
And it's HELPFUL.
In other words, it's just right.
I hope you'll watch it and let us know what you think!

Sure, you could bring your sweetie a box of chocolates.
You could even bring your sweetie a bottle of wine.
But what if you brought your sweetie multiple chocolates and multiple wines, then sampled them all in different combinations, one after another?
You'd learn a heck of a lot about your sweetie, for one thing.
You'd taste a wide range of wines and chocolates from local purveyors like Chocolee Chocolates, Whole Foods Market in Cambridge, Eden Ice Cider, and Whole Foods Market in Dedham.
And you'd be contributing to the WGBH public broadcasting station to boot.
It's a pretty sweet deal.
(Sorry.)
But at $20 a ticket for Valentine's Day ($25 for non-members), sweet is definitely the word that comes to mind.
Get your ticket -- and your Valentine's Day plans -- sorted out today!

You know how we feel about DRINKING BETTER.
(Whenever you can. With new friends and old. Here, there, and everywhere. In other words, always...)
This weekend you can do just that -- with our friends at the Boston Sommelier Society, no less -- at 10% off.
Saturday evening, the BSS celebrates their annual Winter Gala at Les Zygomates.
Champagne, wines from around the world, live jazz, and food from this favorite French restaurants promise to make it not just another Saturday night.
Even better, the BSS is offering friends of Red White Boston 10% off the ticket price for the event. Be sure to use the code rwb!
Here's where to go to register.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Boston Healthcare for the Homeless program.
No, you do not need to be a sommelier to attend.
Nor do you need to be a member of the BSS.
You just need a serious desire to DRINK BETTER.
The chances don't get much better than this.
